In 2010, Texas officials found this letter from a prisoner in correctional officer Celeste Bourland's car. The letter, signed "Your husband," discusses his suspicions that she is involved with another prisoner at the Clements Unit. "I'm not accusing you of nothing. I love you. I'm trusting you to handle your business a little better than you have," he writes. After it was discovered, Bourland resigned her job and was later prosecuted under a Texas statute that criminalizes consensual sexual relationships between prison staff and prisoners.
